Discussion: Social Media Tools Grading Rubric |
BUSI330_D12_202220
The way we communicate with one another continues to be revolutionized by social media.
For many businesses, it is quickly becoming the preferred method of reaching out to
customers in new markets. Make a first thread that addresses the following questions or
concerns:
How did social media begin, and why has it become popular so quickly?
The invention of the telegraph machine on May 24, 1844, marked the beginning of social
networks. From Baltimore, Samuel Morse sent a telegram to Washington, D.C. The
ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) was established in 1969, which
marked the beginning of the advent of online (Guille, 2013). People first used social media to
converse and reconnect with one another. There are a variety of reasons why social media has
become so popular, including the fact that the internet is now more accessible than ever in
practically every country. Another is craving for human connection, even if it is only a
fictitious one. Some people are increasingly using social media to sell products through
multi-level marketing (MLM) organizations.
Compare and contrast Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube, briefly describe
how and why subscribers use them (no citations from the text).
People use Facebook to share images, stories, and experiences from their lives. People on this
social networking platform have the most interaction. Twitter is similar to Facebook but has a
smaller user base. It is used to send a short message to the entire world; if someone likes it or
finds it amusing, they can 'retweet' it. It offers fewer features than Facebook. LinkedIn is a
social networking site for business people. It doesn't focus on a user's personal life, but rather
on their work career. YouTube is a video-sharing platform where you can discover
everything from a blogger talking about her favorite looks to an educational video on how to
adjust your car's brakes. It is less engaging than Facebook and focuses solely on the video in
question.
Explain the use of the "#hashtag" on social media platforms. Why do people use
"hashtags" and how does "#hashtag" tags work?
In social media, hashtags identify whatever you type after the #. People use hashtags to
identify companies, locations, memories, or even simply jokes.
How would a business use “#hashtagging” to advance consumer awareness of products
and services?
Hashtags can be beneficial to a company in a variety of ways. I learned about everything
today after seeing a hashtag and clicking on it to see what the female had to say. It's a simple,
passive approach for a business to advertise since other people buy the things, like them, and
then post about them on social media with the hashtag. A company can get its customers to
use the hashtag by simply utilizing it on its own social media page.
How does a business measure the effectiveness of its social media advertising effort?
One of the most essential key performance indicators (KPIs) in marketing is social media
ROI. It's frequently stated in percentages. KPIs enable you to compare and evaluate various
marketing platforms to determine their effectiveness and efficiency (The Drum 2022). A
company might analyze the impact of its social media ads by simply including a query about
it during online payment. Another option is to simply click on the hashtag to check what
other people are also using it.
"Besides that, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only
idlers but also gossips and busybodies …" 1 Tim 5:13 (ESV). Is social media becoming a
form of "gossiping" today?
I feel that gossiping takes place on social media, particularly on Twitter, Facebook, and
Instagram. Last night, I saw a post on Facebook about a few juveniles who were knocking on
elderly people's homes and then departing, and a few of the children were identified. Even
youngsters who were not involved in the incident were named, and people began to lash out
at them. Because social media can rapidly and easily spiral out of control, it's crucial to keep
an eye on things and avoid getting caught up in online chatter.
How do Christian men and women use social media as a business tool, while stopping
short of gossiping?
One of the numerous benefits of social media is that it allows people to interact with others
they may not have otherwise had the opportunity to do so. Gossip occurs when someone
speaks negatively about another individual when they are not there. Businessmen and women
must maintain a professional presence on social media, not only because of the act of
maintaining a professional presence but also because of the verse mentioned above about not
gossiping.
