Decisions, Decisions: The Analytics Driven Culture
Analysis in companies is needed now more than ever in the corporate world. The
challenges and problems that come up in corporations today will need closer analysis so they can
see where change is needed to be made to improve. As the world keeps changing, so do
corporations. In 2020 very few corporations had any clue what was going to happen just a few
short months into the year. Along with new problems that corporations need to solve, there are
internal issues that have evolved over time that need to be addressed. The standard ways of
practice will not be enough to strive or survive in the economy today. The solutions that worked
in the past can not be applied to the new issues that have come about because new problems need
new solutions. This is why understanding and implementing an analytic driven culture is crucial.
Using graph analytics is one way to do this. Using both old knowledge and new information will
help the organization to create methods to grow as a corporation and face new challenges.
Analytics requires needs to have data that is applicable information for how the decisions need to
be made (Upadhyay & Kumar, 2020). A skilled leader in analytics will be able to sort through
the large amount of information they are given and know what can be used in the best ways.
When we are in the process of analyzing the data, there can be things that could impact
the decision making in a negative way. Areas that it can happen are from the information and the
misinformation that your get, looking at the analysis too much that the obvious answer is missed.
You could also not take a deep enough in your analysis. Not looking at things from every
perspective can be an issue. These are all issues that Bartlett (2013) brings to our attention.
Graph Analytics
Graph analytics can be very useful in the corporate world. "Graph analytics is a fast-
growing field in both big data mining and visualization community that is utilized for numerous
multidisciplinary and high-impact applications, such as network security, finance, and health
care" (Ahmed & Khan Pathan, 2019). One other reason graph analytics can be helpful is how to
relay information. We know people learn in different ways. That does not stop once we leave a
school setting. It will be prevalent in the workplace as well.
Biblical Tie In
Using analytic data in the best way to gain information and understanding is how we can
make the best decisions. In the corporate world, we need to seek out what the issues are and
correct them. "Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge"
(Proverbs 18:15, New Living Translation). I am sure we all look at ourselves as intelligent
people who need to be ready to take on new information in every facet of our lives, not just our
work life or our home life. It is something important to God, so it needs to be important to us. If
we are willing to learn for others and also rely on God, we can be successful.
