a hierarchy, with the application of pairwise comparisons, it can integrate both
qualitative and quantitative data, making a global assessment of the alternatives. This is
attributed to the fact that AHP assigns relative weights with a high level of inclusivity and
performs a more detailed evaluation of the alternatives and/ or criteria compared to the
other approaches.
Therefore, out of the different techniques available, when choosing the right EHR
system for a healthcare organization, AHP emerges as the most suitable one. It can
help in assessing the pros and cons of the options available while ensuring that the
decision made complies with the concerns of healthcare investors, clinical IT
professionals, managers, systems analysts, technical specialists, and/or other
stakeholders involved in HCIS implementation. The appropriate decision-making
technique is, therefore, central to choosing the best decision to ensure organizational
