This article analyzes the interplay of business decisions in the context of succession in
family-owned businesses. Bizri, a business coach, articulates that family-owned enterprises
which have a seamless succession plan typically thrive from the quality of the decisions which
are based on the future of the enterprise in question. Conversely, family-owned businesses which
lack a smooth succession are typically managed using the personal and emotional decisions of
the family members who prioritize their businesses as opposed to the family business. The article
fits into the literature review because it explains how a succession plan affects the quality of
business decisions.
