PERSONALITY TYPES 2
Abstract
The Jung Typology Test and the Meyers-Briggs sixteen personalities will be discussed. Meyers-
Briggs sixteen personalities help individuals and businesses understand personality types for
success in life and careers. People judge others by their personality. I have been able to
determine my personality by taking the Jung Typology Test. I was classified by the test as
Introvert(I), iNtuitive(N), Feeling(F), and Judging(J). I will explore each aspect of my Meyers-
Brigg personality type. I will explain what each aspect of my personality stands for and how
each aspect displays. The Jung Typology Test revealed the percentages of my personality type. I
am thirty-eight percent Introvert, nineteen percent iNtuitive, nineteen percent Feeling, and forty-
seven percent Judging. My Keirsey’s Temperament is classified as NF- The Idealists. The
personality type INFJ is known as The Counselors.” INFJ is the rarest of the personality types.
Only one percent of the population has the INFJ personality type. NFs(Idealists) are concerned
with developing human potential. INFJ personality types will learn how to apply theses traits to
their everyday lives and in their careers.

PERSONALITY TYPES 3
Personality Types
Step One
The HumanMetrics Jung Typology Test determines personality types. Personality types
can be leveraged in self-development and business use. The Jung Typology Test provides a four-
letter type formula based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers typology. The test also
provides a description of your personality type and provides strengths of preferences. The test is
helpful in providing careers suitable for your personality type and relevant degrees and training.
Jung Typology Test helps you understand learning and communication styles of your personality
type. The test is also help in your personal life when it comes to selecting a romantic partner.
Taking the test gave me insight to my personality type. The test revealed my personality type as
INFJ. I have a moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion at thirty-eight percent. I
have slight preferences of Intuition over Sensing and Feeling over Thinking, both at nineteen
percent. I also have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving at forty-seven percent (Jung,
2021).
The INFJ personality type has a complexity of character and unusual range and depth of
their talents. We are humanitarian in outlook and tend to be idealists. We are generally doers as
well as dreamers. INFJs are deeply concerned about our relationships with others. We are also
concerned about the state of humanity at large. We are usually mistaken as extroverts because we
appear outgoing. We are genuinely interested in people. I tend to prefer staying home alone more
than congregate with others. If I attend an event, no one will ever know I did not want to attend
and be social. INFJs are true introverts. We get our fulfillment and intimacy from relations we
have developed over long periods of time, family and soul mates (Jung, 2021.)
PERSONALITY TYPES 4
At times, INFJs withdraw into themselves, separate from everyone. This mechanism
helps us to rebuild and regroup from depletion. We are such givers. We need time to prevent
emotional overload. This characteristic can be confusing to others and often misunderstood.
INFJs have great empathy. We have a quiet exterior with deep convictions about heavy matters
of life. Personality plays a huge role in everyday life and business life. Personality defines who
you are and who you associate yourself with. I understand myself better after taking this test. I
can understand how to deal with different personalities of the people around me as well. I
realized that I chose my career and business path based on my personality. The test revealed I
would be better suited in public service, counseling, teaching, religious organizations, and
writing. The current career I am in is public service. I work for the Department of Human
Resources. I have chosen to start a nonprofit business to help better the community. I now
understand that I am on the right path in my life. My INFJ personality type and NF temperament
fit me perfectly (Jung, 2021).
I-Introvert (38%)
When taking the Jung’s Typology Test, it revealed I am thirty-eight percent introverted. I
have moderate introversion preference over extraversion. According to Jung (2021), Introverts
live mostly internally. Introverts deal with external factors logically and rationally. Introverts are
planners with new ideas. Being knowledgeable, competent, and smart are held to high regard by
introverts. Introverts take pride in it. I can relate because I constantly familiarize myself with
policy and procedures every morning before I begin work. I like to stay up to date on all changes
("Portrait of an INFJ", 2021.)
Introverts are always thinking and gather knowledge for new ideas. I am constantly trying
to improve ways to make my job more efficient. I am always coming up with ideas to better my
PERSONALITY TYPES 5
business. Introverts prefer communicating one on one and dislikes interruptions. We need quiet
to focus. I prefer quiet when I am trying to solve complex things or if I need to focus on things
that require great attention with little room for error. Introverts are great business leaders.
Introverts are shy and only want to take control when needed so they mostly choose midlevel
work. When Introverts take on leadership roles, they excel because of their ability to be
objective. Introverts adapt to change well and go over things multiple times to ensure accuracy
before presentation. Introverts can break things down in simplest form and make sound
decisions. Introverts weakness is constantly distancing themselves from others which can come
off as not being a team player and anti-social (Jung, 2021.)
N-iNtuitive (19%)
The Jung’s Typology Test revealed I have a slight preference of intuition over
sensing by at nineteen percent. Individuals that rely on intuition are insightful and inspirational.
We are future oriented and rely on insights, theories, and trend of development. They always
look for the bigger picture. Intuitive individuals can thing about multiple things at once. Intuitive
individuals are excited by the future not frightened. I always plan my present based on what the
future may hold. I always want to position myself in great opportunities to better my future. In
my current job, I printed out all the qualifications and job descriptions in all the next lateral
moves for my position. I am striving for a higher leadership role in the future. The intuitive enjoy
words games and jokes. We tend to get frustrated when others cannot follow directions. We also
tend to spend our paycheck before we get it versus creating a budget. The downfall to be
intuitive is not developing people skills more. We spend too much time in books ("Portrait of an
INFJ", 2021.)
F-Feeling (19%)
PERSONALITY TYPES 6
According to the Jung Typology Test, I have nineteen percent slight preference of
feeling over thinking. Individuals with more feeling ae governed by emotions. We show
sympathy, warmth, concern, and support to other people. We also make decisions base on our gut
feeling and values. We situations by good/bad or like/dislike. Individuals with more feelings are
ruled by their heart instead of their head. I can relate because I do what makes me happy.
Sometimes logical it is not the right choice, but it always works out in the end. I cannot do things
that make me unhappy. We value harmony and empathy. We want to be appreciated and seek to
please others. We are confident. Feelings is not to be confused with emotions. Everyone has
emotions. A downfall to feeling is being too much of a people pleaser because we want to be
appreciated (The Myers & Briggs Foundation - Thinking or Feeling, 2021.)
J-Judging (47%)
I tested a forty-seven percent on the Jung Typology Test for judging. I have a moderate
preference of judging over perceiving. Judging individuals follow a set schedule with little room
for change. They can tell you how their day will play out and become uneasy if plans change.
Judgers do not like to be surprised. I can agree because I do not like being caught off guard. I
like to receive notice before anything if possible. Judgers can be perceived has mad or rude when
stated their opinions when they are not. Judgers are very organized in their personal life and
work. I am definite organized and love organization. I keep files at work organized and keep my
desk and office clear of clutter. I make to do list for work. At home, I keep everything in its
respective place. I get bothered when something is out of place (Jung, 2021).
The weakness judgers have is we expect everything to be simple, for everyone to choose
the right path, and work hard. We must realize that no two people are the same and everything is
not going to be perfect. We will go through trials in life and be tempted. Someone will choose to

do wrong. The Holy Bible says, Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” (1 Timothy
4:1, KJV.)
Two Letter Temperament
NF-Idealists
NFs are concerned with developing human potential. We want to develop ourselves as
well as others. W are good at seeing possibilities when it comes to people. NFs want our lives to
mean something. We need to be needed. We have great communication skills and maintain
harmony amongst groups of people. Keirsey classified NFs as abstract cooperators. We are
ethical and diplomatic (Keirsey Temperament Assessment, 2021.)
According to Keirsey, NFs make intense mates, nurturing parents, and inspirational
leaders. We are enthusiastic, trust our intuition, yearn for romance, self-seeking, prize
meaningful relationships, and dream of attaining wisdom. We are giving and trusting. We pride
ourselves on being loved, kindhearted, and authentic. We inspire others to meet their full
potential (Keirsey Temperament Assessment, 2021.)
NFs think the best way to achieve goals is with friendly cooperation. Conflict makes us
uneasy. We have a talent for making people get along with each other. We can be hard on
ourselves when we are dishonest. I most definitely am. That is why if I am dishonest, I will tell
the truth and ask for forgiveness because my conscience will eat away at me. NFs are relatively
rare, but we can inspire others to expand our reach (Keirsey Temperament Assessment, 2021.)
The INFJ are Idealist Counselors. We have a strong desire to contribute to the welfare of
others. Counselors prefer jobs that require solitude and close attention but do well with working
PERSONALITY TYPES 8
with individuals directly. We prefer all interactions to be genuine. Even though we work well
with others, we still need some quiet time to regroup and recharge (Keirsey Temperament
Assessment, 2021.)
Step Two
I have learned that every individual has their own personality. Everyone has different
goals they want to achieve in life. The tests have allowed me to understand myself better. By
understanding myself, I can improve my work life. I can better regulate my feelings because I
know I need to take some me time throughout the day to regroup. I get frustrated when I have to
be social for long periods of time. Taking small breaks to regroup will keep me in a happier
mood throughout the day.
I will be able to interact more efficiently with my coworkers because I understand how to
deal with other personalities better. According to Kroeger, Thuesen, and Rutledge (2002),
understanding the personality of yourself as well as others may help further your career, handle
ethical issues better, manage stress more effectively, and resolve conflicts faster.
