they stand out from the rest of the text (bold, italic, color, different font…). If you choose to print
this document and hand write your answers, please make sure that you leave plenty of space
for all answers and that your writing is legible.
Video 1:
The Real Jurassic Park (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX5qpyx98ys)
1. Name the six steps that are required to actually have a “Jurassic Park”. (6 points)
1. First you are going to want to find some dinosaur bones which means DNA.
2. Grow and embryo
3. Raise the animal.
4. Choose where its going to live.
5. Plant what the animal is going to eat.
6.Mange the animals
2. What was used to freeze amber to crack it open and access the insects? (1 point)
It was opne with liquid nitogen
3. Who was able to get bone marrow from fossils that have blood cells of dinosaurs in them? (1 point)
John Horner

Bsides the gametes cells the other cells they are called somatic cells
5. Which geologic time period would need a dry environment with a coniferous forest type vegetation? (1
point)

6. In order to survive predation by large dinosaurs, what must plants be fast at doing? (1 point)
Plants should grow back really fast.
7. Why are captive carnivores (in zoos) rarely fed live animals? (2 points)
The reason for this is because you do not want to increase their appierate
8. Name at least three management issues that must be dealt with if these animals were alive today. (3
points)
1. Where will we put these animals , cages?
2. The maintenance of food.
3. Making sure it taken care of all the time.
9. If dinosaurs were alive today, why would they have to avoid eating many current plants? (1 point)
BIO 110 Lab 10 Priscila Palma
Th reason for this is because they are not accustom to eating our food now.
10. What type of climate did the Cretaceous Period have? (1 point)
It was warm.
11. What moral argument is discussed in the documentary? What suggestions are given for why we
should create dinosaurs? What evidence is there to the contrary? (6 points)
If we should grow a real life disosaur. There is so much to learn about them but at the same we do not
know how they will adapt.
Th reason why is ir destroy us.
12. What is your opinion on using biotechnology methods to bring back extinct organisms and why? What
about using this technology to help endangered animals? Explain your opinions. (6 points)
I think that it is a great idea, but at the same time we need to be cautious about what will this
mean for society. I think that we have done enough, look at this planet and see that the main
reason why these animals are exist is because of us.
Video 2: RNAi
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh3-NHdjnyQ&authuser=0)
1. What is the recipe for every organism? (1 point)
It is DNA
2. What turns you from a chemical code into a living organism? (1 point)
RNA
3. Where in the cell is DNA found? And why is DNA not the actual working molecule of the cell? (2
points)
DNA is found in the nucleus. Th reason why is because the nucleus protects it so t
4. What is RNA the recipe for making? (2 points)
A protein
5. What color did the first generation (from petunias) from the copying process turn? (1 point)
It turn White.
6. What is the mortal enemy of the cell? (1 point)
The mortal enemy of the cell is the viruses

1998
8. What organism was RNAi accidently discovered in? (1 point)
Petunias
9. What does RNAi actually mean? (2 points)
RNA interface
10. What is macular degeneration? What are the symptoms? (2 points)
When you have to many blood vessles, you can not see
11. What does RNAi actually do? (2 points)
It will destroy copy of genes or turn them off.
12. What organism has Huntington’s, breast cancer, hepatitis, etc, been tested in? (1 point)
Mice
13. According to the video, how many genes do humans have? (2 points)
20,000
14. In what way can RNAi help determine what all of those genes do? (2 points)
By seeing each gene and tuning it off.
