Unlocking the Scriptures
1. Identify the Universal Truth:
The essential message in 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 is that God conveys the fundamental truth
of the Christian faith. God emphasizes the significance of the Gospel, which revolves around the
death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ1. The essential message, supported by credible
eyewitnesses and proclaimed by the apostles, serves as the pathway to believers attain salvation
and maintain their faith.
2. Identify Specific Points of Application:
A. Relationship with GOD:
A(n) Higher Power to Acknowledge.
Understanding the Gospel enables Christians to approach God with Humility and
gratitude, and recognizing salvation is secured through Jesus' sacrificial act deepens our
reverence for God. There is importance in proclaiming the Gospel, as Paul and other apostles
show Christians should embrace their role in the great commission2. Jesus commands in
Matthew 28:19-20, ‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'
B. Relationship with myself:

A(n) revelation to myself through Christ.
The universal truth enables Christians to grasp their true identity. Embracing the Gospel
as the core of our faith allows us to realize our identity in Christ. According to 2 Corinthians
5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is
here. The resurrection of Jesus instills hope and resilience in Christians when confronted with
life's trials. Understanding that Christ triumphed over death and Christians partake in his victory
empowers one to face challenges positively.
C. Relationship with OTHERS:
A(n) expression to fellow Christians.
The Gospel is an excellent expression of God's love and grace that should completely
transform our interactions with others. Christians receive God's grace and are responsible for
extending the same love and grace to those around them. Ephesians 4:32 instructs Christians to
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave
you." The Gospel is about reconciliation between God and humanity and among humans,
showing that believers should seek to resolve conflict and promote peace.
D. Relationship with Satan:
A(n) enemy to triumph over.
His resurrection symbolizes Jesus' triumph over death, sin, and Satan. In Colossians 2:15,
it is stated that he has disarmed the powers, and authorities display his victory through the cross.
Jesus' resurrection serves as a reminder that Satan has been defeated.3. Therefore, in interactions,

Christians should always approach him from a position of triumph, acknowledging that through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ, they have been granted power over Satan.
3. Identify A Verse for Contemplation
The passage that deserves much attention is 1 Corinthians 14:3-4. This verse insists on
the central aspect of the gospel message, specifically the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus
Christ.4. Reflecting on this verse, we understand the significance of these events to our faith. It
also serves as a reminder of the fulfillment of God's plan as foretold in the scripture, reinforcing
credibility.
4. Identify How You Will Practice What You Have Learned:
A. Embrace the Folly of the Cross.
Christians should commit to embracing the cross and understand that God’s wisdom
often goes against worldly views; this means standing firm in one's faith.
B. Seek Divine Wisdom Over Human Understanding.
Instead of relying on human logic and worldly knowledge, Christians should actively
seek God’s wisdom through prayer and reflection on his word.
C. Cultivate Humility and dependence on God.
Christians should acknowledge the need for God's guidance, provision, and strength in all
areas of life, as underscored in 1 Corinthians 1:25, where Paul highlights the superiority
of God's wisdom.
D. Guard against Pride and Self Sufficiency.

Christians should resist the temptation to boast of their wisdom, achievements, or
abilities, recognizing true strength comes from God.
E. Share The Gospel with Boldness and Clarity.
As described in the scriptures, Christians should actively seek opportunities to share the
Gospel with others, emphasizing the simplicity and power of the message of salvation
through Jesus Christ.
