Persecution Assignment

The video shows a lot about Roman culture and how they viewed their God
and others. In the video it shows how the Romans Gods feel as they feel. Every
Christian knows that if they fall God will not that he will life them up and help
them stand again. It also showed the brutality that was forced upon Christians.
They were discriminated against and even thrown to actual tigers in the Gladiator
ring. Christians were called rebels and put down because they only worshiped one
God and that could not be allowed.
This type of persecution exists today but not only in the case of religion. It
also exists in race, sex, and orientation. Take for example, the burning of crosses in
yards of African Americans. Also, the persecution of gays, such as conversion
therapy, or the murder of gays. This type of persecution can be found all through
the history books and while it is getting better it is not gone. This persecution exists
because of people’s beliefs. Even some Christians persecute others based on their
beliefs. Other examples are with racism people believe stereotypes about a race
and apply it to all the people of that race. “Accept the one whose faith is weak,
without quarreling over disputable matters. One person’s faith allows them to eat
anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats
everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who
does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted
them…” [ CITATION Jam \l 1033 ] This passage states that just because you have
your own beliefs does not mean you can judge someone else. There are many
passages in the bible that state that you should not judge others. As Christians it is
our job to teach others about Christ but not berate them or judge them based on
their beliefs.
