1.a Conduct an Internet search and list 5 top ranking global companies that promote a spiritual and
biblical proponent within their business operations.
Hobby Lobby – One of America’s largest privately-owned businesses, specializing in arts and crafts.
The company has taken a stance on Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which would
mandate companies to provide access to the morning-after pill. Hobby Lobby filed a lawsuit against
the federal government, stating religious beliefs forbid them from participating or providing access to
this medication. This went to the Supreme Court and was ruled in Hobby Lobby’s favor and they
were exempt based on religious preferences. The store is also closed on Sundays to allow employees
to have more time to spend for worship, rest and family.
Chick-fil-A - America’s second largest fried chicken chain with over 1,600 stores in 40 states.
Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed for business on Sundays as the company’s way of honoring God.
In addition to Sundays they are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas as well. The company has
also taken a stance in opposition to same-sex marriage. The company’s official statement of
corporate purpose says the business exists “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is
entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.”
Mary Kay – The sixth largest network marketing company in the world in 2018. Mary Kay sells
cosmetics.
Mary Kay’s motto is: “God first, family second, career third,” while the Golden Rule serves as their
mandate. All women at the executive level are faith-oriented. The founder of this company passes
her own values of her Christian belief.

Interstate Batteries – This company sells all types of batteries as well as battery chargers.
This company’s mission statement states up front that it exist “To glorify God.” The company has
eight values which are Love, Servant’s Heart, Excellence, Courage, Fun, Team and Integrity. The
company has a spiritual work environment as the send prayer request to your emails, pray before
meals and meeting, some meetings are Biblically-based and a Chaplain is on staff to provide team
member in need.
Marriott – Full-service hotel and resort.
This company is known for putting the Book of Mormons along with Bibles in hotel room. The
company also recently announced that it would no longer offer pay-per-view pornography in its hotel
rooms.
Question 2
The characteristics of the successful global business professional is crucial to international business
success. How does this apply to Christians?
Honesty- Whether you’re a Christian or not I think honesty is the key to a successful business. This
characteristic builds loyalty and trust with your customers and opens the door to prospective
customers. Most importantly as a Christian it is Gods commandment that we not lie.
Integrity- Having this quality shows others that you are a morally sound person who is consistent
with his beliefs or goals.
Humility – Being able to listen and show interest in others allows you to be open to others opinions.
As a Christian humility shows gratitude and our actions will show the right intent.

dimension? Why or why not?

3. Suppose you have been assigned to a new job in another nation, and that nation does not embrace a
Biblical Worldview. What would you need to do to prepare yourself for that assignment in terms of
maintaining your Biblical and ethical beliefs?
