Week One: A “Squares, Triangles, Circles, and Hearts”
Squares:
1. Our human nature is to search out of curiosity and to explore things that are sacred and
things that are labeled as treasures. We are vulnerable when we are not grounded in
thought and within our hearts to truth, we lean toward our fleshly desires without
considering consequences when we are told opposing truths (Everyday Study Bible, p. 4)
2. The Bible, given its content through man from God, is the complete truth to navigating
our lives how God intended it to be. We must understand how to read and study the Bible
to understand its principles and applications in life.
3. We love people because God loves us and has restored eternal life through Jesus. The
joy and fulfilling lives we can live by living with excellence and by God’s instruction
provides a path of peace and comfort not found anywhere else. To understand these
things, we must know what we are reading and studying related to type and context of the
book (Everyday Study bible, p. 18)
4. God is sovereign, too often we forget that the Bible tells us this truth. Having a free
will to make our own choices, God is omnipresent and is the beginning and the end,
knowing the paths we will choose and works all things for good for the people who love
him and abide in him.

Triangles:
1. The Bible is the greatest piece of literature, perfect in storyline and according to God’s
ultimate plans for our lives.
2. Winning the battle in the spiritual warfare we face daily begins with knowing how to
study God’s word and the context within it in order to apply the text to our lives correctly.
3. “While we can identify admirable points of obedience in the lives of believers in the
Bible, these people are not mere role models. They are testimonies to God’s redemptive
plan to save the world through Jesus Christ. This is the redemption that you and I need,
rather than the positive and negative examples of fallen human beings. Every human
being in the Bible should instead draw our attention to Christ.” [CartwrightHulshof

Circles:
1. If our perspective of the Bible leans toward only an instruction manual for our lives or
we see the people of the Bible as heroes or mentors, how will that affect our
comprehension and application methods of God’s word?
2. If the Bible is God’s story, and God accomplished his plan with Jesus’ life to redeem us
back to himself, how important is it for us to view our lives as God’s story being lived
out? Are we worthy of his story being our story?
Hearts:
