Megan Sutherland: CHAPTER 13
I concur with you that Nehemiah was a dedicated and strong leader who made efforts to
bring Jerusalem together and get the people to reconstruct the wall on the exterior of the town. In
addition to the point, the book called Courageous faith speaks about Nehemiah's plan of action.
He inspected through the ruined gates and walls of the town then assembled Jewish leaders, and
he then announced his intentions they agreed with the Jewish leaders. I concur with you that
decision made from a young age will impact how you will be making choices and developing
growth as a person, this is further explained in the book named Courageous faith, where they say
that the wrong decision a person makes when young tend to establish our lives on the completely
wrong direction. Just like in Courageous faith where Nehemiah provides a vision, motivation, and
also a plan of action, this article by Deborah emphasizes on them regarding the building of a future
or legacy and strategizing. In the article, they describe Nehemiah as a strategic person, due to his
strategies, he drew success close to himself (Deborah, 2018). Nehemiah also reinstated moral life,
cultural reformation, and cultural consciousness to the Jews.

There are several examples of leaders from the bible who were strategic, those leaders act
as motivation to the organization’s leaders in the 21st century. Nehemiah is among the

conspicuous strategic leader noted in the Old Testament, Nehemiah accepted tobe a vessel for
God during rebuilding of the Jerusalem walls that were ruined during the Babylonian attack. A
leader can learn most lessons from such strategic leadership.
Nicole Lewis: CHAPTER 12
I agree with you that it is very important that one stands up for their faith in Christ. Those
that triumph because Christ will finally be rewarded, and God will always be there for them. At
any point, one should never compromise their beliefs regardless of what trials and trouble they
are presented to. I concur that just as Daniel, it is important to trust God and believe that he will
rescue us for His namesake. Also, the book of proverbs chapter 23 states that "he leads me beside
still waters for His namesake," which means that God can allow one to go through trials for Him
to be exalted after Victory. From Courageous Faith, "Daniel resolved not to defile himself,"
even if he was going through painful trials to share a table with the royals. One should never be
ashamed for the gospel of Christ, and we all need to stand up for our faith in God. Buchak (2019)
explains that faith needs one to go beyond what is evident and terminates the need to search for
further evidence. Daniel believed that God would rescue him for the den of lions, and there was
no evidence that God will do so, but he had faith in God.

Buchaks explains in this article that there is a connection amid faith and rationality which
develops an account that is unified regarding the mundane matters and the ones

connecting to religious faith. The article further explains that faith need going beyond
what is evident and believing on something that is not seen that will happen or exists. The
author explains two costs involved in religious faith.
