Analysis: Reflection of the Big Dipper
You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. You can also look at the
picture for a second and think of it all your life. Jackson Pollock was an amazin artist in his time
who influenced many people with his works of art and a major figure in the abstract
expressionist movement. He was born January 28, 1912 and died august 11, 1956 and in his time
he descoved a art style of drip painting. He also enjoyed his considerable fame and was a major
artist for most of his generation.

During his time he created a beautiful work of art in which he named “reflection of the
Big Dipper” which consisted of built up layers of paint with dripped enamel as a final touch,
concluding the composition. This work of art is in the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam,

Netherlands and is 111 x 91.5 cm in size. Now around 1947 Jackson pollock decided to Trade
his paint brushes for sticks, towels and knives and he also started adding foreign matter such as
