Introduction to apologetics
The lesson today talks on the topic apologetics in the bible. As I begin this course, I first
ask myself, “What is apologetics?” I then learned that apologetics is, Wikipedia says that
apologetics is, “the religious discipline of defending religious doctrines through systematic
argumentation and discourse.” Basically, apologetics means to give a logical defense of
Christian faith. After understanding what apologetics mean and the purpose of apologetics,
which is to defense of the Christian faith. Apologetics is a branch of Christianity that defends the
authority of God’s word, the character of God and Christianity as a whole, and uses the bible as
an offensive “weapon” against all other worldviews and oppositions. The bible commands that
we give a reasoned defense of the faith in 1 Peter 3:15. Peter also makes it clear this is to be
done by first setting apart Christ as Lord in your heart and to do this with gentleness and respect.
