World View Paper
As we all have grown up going through school we learned the importance of having an
opinion and in a way standing out from the crowd. We all have our own different beliefs, and
form our own values based on our families, how we were raised and what we learn to follow. In
a way I believe that we form our own “worldview.” After reading, I have learned that worldview
is “the framework from which we view reality and make sense of life and the world. “ To sum it
up worldview is what we have concluded based on our thoughts and ideas on how the world has
been formed.
One of the most rewarding things about attending Liberty University is learning and
understanding more of the biblical and Christian worldview. There are many questions that we
all wonder and think of answers for.
The first one is the question of Origin. How did nothing become something? The six day
creation is summed up by stating that in Genesis, the first chapter of the Bible says that “God
made heaven and earth and every living thing in six days.” The question that many people ask is
that are those six "days" to be taken literally, as six 24-hour days, or are they symbolic. Gen
1:14-18 talks about the breakdown of when things were created, when light evolved, and when
water and land came about. Micah 5:2 relates to when people became in existence. It breaks
down who was born in Bethlehem nearly 2000 years ago, but on the sixth day we all know that
god created one man and one woman. I believe that origin is one of the most fascinating things to
read about.
The question of Identity asks what exactly does it mean to be a human, and are humans
more or less important than animals? We learned that the Christian worldview realizes that all
mankind is unique and a different creation of God himself. I have learned early on that we as
Christians believe that man was “made in the likeness of God” This is further explained in
Genesis 1:27. We later then learn that he was “given authority over all of the earth” This is more
explained in Genesis 1:28-30. God wanted us as humans to care for animals and plants.
The third question asked is what is the meaning or purpose? As Christians, we believe
that mankind is in existence so that we can glorify and obey god. We do this in many ways each
and every day. We attend church and sing and praise and pray this is shown in, Psalm 95.
Philippians 2:12-13 talks about prayer and giving thanks. We do these things to build a stronger
relationship with god. We have learned that if we have god be our savior then we will have
everlasting life with him.
The fourth question is of Morality. We have learned that the Christian worldview cites
that morality is knowing the right from the wrong. We have been provided with laws that have
established a understanding for morality. This is shown in Exodus 20. One thing we do know is
that morality was not for a man to determine, but was established by our God. We as humans
have sinned on God’s morality which is why we ask for forgiveness and salvation. This is shown
in Romans 3:23.
Lastly, we know how life was created, but what happens after death? The question of
destiny. We as Christians believe that there are two places we could end up, with God in heaven
or in Hell. The Christian worldview states that both heaven and hell are not figurative places, but
actual places that we will go. For us to go to Heaven we must admit to being sinners and needing
forgiveness. This has been shown to us by in the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
This is also stated in John 3:16. Heaven is more explained in Matthew 25:23, where we will go
eternally if we allow Jesus to be our savor.

After working on this paper, I have realized that biblical worldview affects and influences
me in many ways. I realize that how I was brought up that I should treat people with respect and
dignity. I should always try to spread the word, because it is important for all to hear. As a future
career, I am going to work in a Christian school that will further my Christian belief and
educational values. This will allow me to share my knowledge with others. I will also be in a
Christian environment where we all share the same beliefs. This will help me grow as a person
and as a Christian.
