focus on examining life, its origin, purpose, defining good and evil, truth and falsehood and
human behavior.Additionally, numerous factors such as inherited characteristics, experiences,
life situations, values, attitudes and habits affect an individual’s worldview(Vidal, 2008).
PartII
OriginofLife
ChristiansbelievethattheuniverseandallthelivingcreaturesarecreationsofaSupreme God. In
Genesis chapter 1, verse 1, the scriptures tells us that God, as a supreme being with
unimaginablepower,createdheavensandearth(Lefebvre,2011).Hetransformedtheearthfrom its
empty, darkandformlessstate to onethat waspleasing to Him.Throughoutverse2to 24,the bible
elaborates the six days of events that God utilized to create the universe and all the living things.
In verse 26 and 27, the bible indicates that God created human beings in His own image
(Lefebvre, 2011).
HumanIdentity
GenesisChapter 1:26-27state that human beingswerecreated in thelikelinessorimage
ofGod(Lefebvre,2011).TakingtheimageofGodimpliesthathumanbeingshavecertaingodly attributes
such as self-conscious rationality, ability to make moral alternatives, engage in artistic creativity
and to be in a relationship. Human beings can reason, choose to do good, be creative and engage
in meaningful relationship just like God (Lefebvre, 2011).

Morality
Christians view moral acts as activities that are pleasing in the eyes of God.Any act that
goes against the commandments of God is immoral. In Exodus 20, God provided Moses with 10
commandments that focused on establishing the moral baseline. In Romans chapter 3, verse 23,
Godistheultimate standardfromwhichanactcanbejudgedeitherasrightorwrong.Heisholy and devoid
of sin. Human beings should live a godly life because they are the image of God (Lefebvre,
2011).
Destiny
Christians believe in life after death. The souls of the righteous will reside in heaven
wheretheywillenjoyaneternallifeofcelebrationandglorifyingGodwhilethoseofthewicked and evil
will reside in hell. The wicked will face eternal fire and suffering. John 3: 16 indicate that the
only way to heaven is through following Jesus’teachings(Lefebvre, 2011).Likewise, in John 17:
1 to 3, Jesus promises eternal life to all those that are righteous (Lefebvre, 2011).
