Throughout history, technology has been significantly evolving all over the world and
giving us easier ways to communicate, travel, better entertainment, illness control, and more to
learn. Technology is basically a systematic way of doing things or solving problems for the good
of humanity. Is also a very efficient activity directed at designing and making products like
machines, computers, textiles, household devices, and others, which make people living more
comfortably. It has been a huge impact that affects the ways we think, learn, and communicate. It
helps society and helps to determine how everyone interacts with each other in their everyday
life. technology plays a very important role in our world today with the Information Secure and
Computer Froud which is the use of a computer as an instrument to further illegal ends like
trafficking in child pornography and intellectual property, violating privacy, and stealing of
identities. Technology is great but it not only has a positive effect it also has negative
consequences.
First what computer fraud is? Cybercrime and the computer act to steal or alter electronic
data and to gain illegal use of a computer or system. This type of fraud happens over the internet
or on email, adding illegals activities like identity theft, phishing, and other hacking types
created to scam people and take their money. According to my research “The fundamental
problem is that there is no global standard for securing card transactions, or even the use of
payment authentication. There are a wide variety of methods, some used independently, others in
conjunction with each other.” (David, Fraud, Fab,2016). This is evidence that shows a simple
reason of why illegal activities are very easy to perform and to be a victim of.
There are many reasons why these frauds happen. The world technology is rapidly
increasing and so are the illegal internet activities Today, fraud activities are accelerating and

grown even more sophisticated due to the rise of e-commerce, mobile payments, and computing
power. Many of the same technologies that companies rely on to innovate and rapidly introduce
new products and services are also being adopted by fraudsters.
The Information Computer Froud is not a recent concept. On my research I came across
the (CFAA) which is the Computer Fraud Abuse Act that was enacted in 1986 as an amendment
due to the first Computer Fraud law. An example of this could be my workplace which allows me
to have the company source and computer access but when I’m home is not possible to have
access because of the cyber security that is implanted on the company. The risk is constantly
affecting people but is possible to prevented from happening. Like keeping financial data
separated, protect your computer with an anti-virus, know who is asking, keep the password
secret and download applications from trusted sources only.
Therefore, we must consider that technology is growing so fast that in future generations
everything could be done with the use of technology. Computer fraud is a huge problem that can
be very chaotic, but it can be prevent it from happening as long as we follow the instruction and
be curious about any suspicious activities.
