Participants in 3 groups
1. Currently exercising?
Remember 3x3x30 (3 METS exerted 3 days a week for at least 30
minutes) in order to classify someone as physically active
2. Have disease?
3. Have signs or symptoms?
After grouped, results in 6 categories (based on whether they are currently
exercising)

Physically active (moderate activity three days a week for 40 minutes)
Heart attack 5 years ago (once you have a ♥ attack, you are always
classified as having a cardiovascular disease)
Visit to cardiologist 2 years ago — no changes
Medical clearance necessary? Yes

Inactive (sedentary lifestyle = < 3x3x30)
When exerted, no signs or symptoms (person should not experience
signs or symptoms at rest OR when exerted)
No major disease
Medical clearance? No

Physically active
When exerted, is experiencing signs/symptoms (chest pain)
No known diseases
Medical clearance? Yes
