Dear Past Dylan,
After finishing the first writing project essay, I really want to show you some experiences that I
believe is helpful for you in the following project.
Firstly, when I first got this assigment, I understood the goals basically, but still had a little
confused. I knew that I have to choose a text that impacted on you and use rhetorical analysis to
break it down. However, until started writing, I realize the role of rhetorical analysis in text-
analysisng. They provide you mutiple viewpoint about emotion, logic, crebibility and urgency of
this text and how the text matter with you.
Actually, choosing the suitable text was not challenging for me because there is a small number of
text which have significant impact on me. I decided to choose Nobody’s Boy film which lingered
clearly in my mind although I wonder this text is a bit emtional that should be considered in an
academic essay and the result is good so trust yourself. Honestly, I am woried about the future
writing project because of this little amount of text I facing; therfore, a useful advice is paying
attention for the text around you and asking a question: “What do they give for you?”. Additionally,
this is the writing project for you so remember to end with personal affect.
This is easily seen that the film mainly used Pathos, supported by Ethos of its original form.
Besides, Logos and Karios are quite mix, writing them on one paragraph is good idea. I did well
with rhetorical analysis but I feel Logos is weaker than others, keep your eyes on it. Using Question
cycle is a perfect way to define and analyze the rhetorical appeals. Initially, it would be abstract but
when you start asking question such as What is Ethos came for? Is this film logical? or What does
the film bring for the time when it is published? You will see it more clarity and strucutre. Finally,
anything you said you need evidence for them, which will help your writing more solid and reliable.
Right now, I do not read but consume everyday texts. I notice the appeals through the way they are
presented - what emotion they want to show, is it logical, and the most important, is it trustworthy.

Due to the fact that there are a lot of uncensored information widespread, especially social media
what I use every single day.
This course is very interesting so enjoy it. Good luck!
