The use of logical fallacies can often manipulate consumer perception and decision-making. An
illustrative example of this can be seen in the promotional strategies used for Trump Steaks. During a
2016 press conference, Donald Trump showcased Trump Steaks, among other products, to counteract
criticism regarding his business failures. This event was not just a display of products but also served as
an implicit advertisement, asserting the quality of these steaks based on Trump's business reputation

This advertising approach exemplifies the "appeal to accomplishment" fallacy, where the argument
suggests that the steaks must be of high quality because they are associated with a successful
businessman. This fallacy diverts from evaluating the product on its own merits, instead linking its value
to Trump's past business achievements (Buncombe, 2016). Additionally, the advertisement leans on the
"appeal to authority" fallacy, where Trump's authority in business is supposed to substantiate the steaks'

Such use of fallacies in marketing can mislead consumers, basing product merit on irrelevant factors
