Sanskrit term
‘to join, unite or yoke together’
Essential purpose – ‘to bring together body, mind and spirit into a harmonious whole.’
Central methods - physical postures or ‘asanas’ and movement, breathing techniques or ‘pranayama’ and meditation.
Guidance on healthy lifestyle, eating habits, mental attitude.
