Cult Mentality
In the book “The Girls” represent the cult mentality because it relates to the relationships within the cults and what they did leading up to the murder. The cult brainwashes people, engage in criminal activities also serious drugs, theft. The cult brainwashes people because of mind control to get them to do whatever they cult leader want them to do also in Engaging in criminal activities is a must, because the leader make them go against society and feel more powerful to prove their in the cult group. The cult leader has them use drugs so he can manipulate the members/in order to control them however he wants to.
The cult leader Russel has them due drugs by brainwashing them then while on drugs get them to do criminal acts. “I was so smart when I was young, so smart that of course they told me I was dumb” (pg. 122) Russel stated in the book
