Good afternoon Professor,

The time I reflected on was when I was a collector for a law firm and their practices where against my moral and ethic beliefs. However, I needed the job at that time so I worked according to their practices. As I was performing my duties I found myself getting conflicted when talking to people because you hear all kinds of stories of hardship. Most of which I could relate. So I started talking to people as a person who understood their challenges. This of course frustrated my bosses because they did not want to hear why this person could not afford to pay at the time. So I offered the debtors a choice of making small payments til the debt was paid, However they wanted balance in full and wanted me to go to extremes to collect that debt. This of course started to stress me out and It conflicted with my spiritual beliefs so I talked to my sister about the difficulty and she told me If I felt that strongly about the fact the company was stifling me that I should do what I have to do and not to worry because God would provide..So I eventually left the company and felt much better about the fact that I did not have to act like someone I was not.

If I had the chance to do all over again how the company practices I would have looked for something else at the time. One thing that I have found out through all of my years of working is that in some companies you don't matter and all they care about are the profits.
