WRK100: Preparing for the future of Work

Week 8 Discussion Question

Part 1:

· 5

You use your problem solving skill every day, even when you don’t realize it. For example, maybe you need to be at work for an important meeting, but your child is sick. How do you make arrangements so you can get to your meeting?

Or imagine you’re trying to make pancakes on Sunday morning, and you have one egg when the recipe calls for two. How do you finish your mix?

Or maybe your rent is due tomorrow, but you’re short $150. What do you do?

1. In paragraph 1, share a problem you’ve recently encountered in your own life and outline the steps you took to solve it. What were the possible solutions? (For example, if you knew you were going to be short on rent, would you borrow the money or ask your landlord for an extension, and why?)

2. In paragraph 2, explain how you determined the best course of action for your situation. In the end, how did you ultimately solve the problem?

Remember to answer each part of the question in 2 paragraphs. Each paragraph should be 5-7 sentences with limited grammatical errors (total 10-14 sentences). Also, respond to at least 1 of your peers (at least 1-2 sentences).

RE: Week 8 Discussion

Last year, we were having our new house built but we also needed to sell our previous house before we were able to close on the new house. During this time, my daughter was having some Kidney problems and the COVID pandemic had started that year as well, so we had to take the old house off the market.

Since our new house was almost completed and we needed to have the old house sold by the time the new house was built. I reached out to the builder of the house to explain my situation so I presented her with a pre-occupancy agreement for the new house so we will not endanger my daughter or anyone's life and so we can put the old house back on the market for sale.
