Written Paper: Doing Good with Random Acts of Kindness

Now it's your turn to do some good. For this activity, you will dedicate three whole days to incorporating two things into your life. First, you will practice  looking for opportunities to practice random acts of kindness, and second, you will  do something kind for someone else without expecting anything in return. This “random act of kindness” can be something simple like picking up trash in a neighbor's yard, putting a coin in an expired parking meter, or paying for someone's coffee in the line behind you at the coffee house. For additional ideas, you can refer to the Random Acts of Kindness Organization mentioned in From the Expert.

If you get caught in your kindness act, and the individual wants to "repay" you, tell him or her to do something kind for someone else… that is, to “pay it forward”.

Write a two-page, and double-spaced paper about your experiences. In your paper, include 1) a list of all the opportunities you found to practice kindness (whether or not you were able to act on them); 2) detailed descriptions of the acts of kindness you performed, how you felt, and how others responded; 3) based on the Random Acts of Kindness Organization website, what are the societal implications of random acts of kindness? (Cite the articles from the website you use to formulate your response.)
