1. PROVIDE A BRIEF INTRODUCTION FOCUSING ON YOUR EDUCATION, CAREER, AND DECISION TO APPLY TO UNIVERSITY OF THE CUMBERLANDS.

Myself Sameer Mohammed perused my Master of Science in Information Technology Management from Campbellsville University. Currently I reside from Minneapolis Minnesota working for I2U systems Inc. as a DevOps Engineer. My job responsibilities include, Implementation and design strategies for Continuous integration (CI) and Continuous deployment (CD) pipelines as a part of Automation. Mostly involved on container-based platforms (i.e., OpenShift and Kubernetes) and design automation strategies for web application. On a daily basis I check the code quality and security vulnerabilities of an application API which are Java-based. Implemented monitoring systems: Splunk tool for application log monitoring, SiteScope for Database monitoring and application monitoring, Dynatrace for pod/container level metrics and alerting notification(s) on OpenShift platform. I am applying for admission to the PhD program in Information Technology in University of the Cumberlands to get involved deeply in research and be prepared for teaching and research-based careers. My research interests include data science and program analysis. University of Cumberlands has a good reputation in various fields of Study and have flexible programs and schedules which attracted me to join this University. I want to pursue my PHD while working which is the greatest privilege Cumberlands is offering. 2. IN RELATION TO YOUR DOCTORAL PROGRAM APPLICATION, WHAT AREA OF RECENT RESEARCH IN THE FIELD WOULD YOU WANT TO STUDY, AND WHY?

Information Technology is one of the highest growing technologies and has many opportunities in this digital world. Due its vast opportunities I’m pretty sure my research in IT would be a great asset as I can gain lot of information and experience training in the PHD program. I’m very interested in being a professor and keep researching in different fields of information technology and hence University of Cumberlands gives me a great opportunity in pursuing this. Teaching is my favorite profession and research along with teaching is something I’m looking forward for in my future.

I also feel that pursuing a PHD would open many career opportunities in this filed and would be helpful to have a wonderful career. I’m interested in research opportunities in this program and widen up my research career. Besides due to growing needs in information technology it requires lots of research to be done in this filed and I believe I would have a bright future by pursuing my PHD in Information Technology.
