Is Google really making us stupid as acclaimed by Carr? How is it making humans stupid? What are the subsequent results of using goggle, a) positives b) negatives? If there is effect by goggle which demographic is mainly affected. How is the older generation reacting towards the advancements of technology? How has goggle impacted the lives of different demographics? Why Goggle is most sought information site. How is Google fairing compared to other sources of information? How is the reliability of the site?

Carr (2008), States that in a study conducted in 24 brains that were scanned while using google search, the researchers found that the persons who had more experience with google had heightened actions in more parts of the brain, more specifically the front cortex. This part is for seat consciousness which is used for decision making. The good news here is that web surfing engages so many brain tasks that are major catalysts to make the older people brains sharp. Nonetheless, Carr postulates that when one comes across a hyperlinked text, the brain query whether to click or not to. The fact that one is mainly interrupted to make these decisions, one barely gets lost and information intermittently becomes deep knowledge.in other words, the redirection our mental procedures from reading to making conclusive judgments, may be unrevealed. Human brains are quick, however, it has hampered the comprehension, retention more so when repeated frequently. Better still, this article, alludes that internet usage rewires our brain. Those with less experience in using google were instructed to use internet for one hour per day. After a span of five days, their brains were rescanned, and results were that their prefrontal cortexes had heightened activities. In conclusion, even less internet use alters the neural pathways in the brain. This article is relevant to this research because it shows how study led to a conclusion that goggle really affect the human brain.

According to this article, goggle has played a significant role in the evolution of technology. It is a huge player in the search engine and it has made up to 7 percent of daily internet page views. It has had numerous created a platform with unorthodox corporate culture and the companies has befitted in numerous ways. This article has discussed numerous ways in which google has positively and negatively impacted the words. In positive ways, it has led to information availability. Google has put information on the fingertips in a way like never before. Despite it not the first search engine, it has put information in a simple and orderly way for its users. Additionally, updates form the company has been helpful. Also, the platform has pumped sizeable profits in research and development. One of the most high-profile is the invention is the google grass. This is a wearable computer mounted which can respond to whatever the wearer looks at. Again, it has ventured in driverless vehicle research among other inventions. At the same time, this article has discussed the negative results of using google. It postulates that According to study, more than a third under age of two use google the numbers increases as the age rises .95% of teenagers under with age range of 12-17 spend their time online. As a result, the time spent online does not only provide new ways of doing things but the wiring of the brain. For instance, even though video game provides attention to multiple stimuli, it can lead to distraction and poor memory. Consequently, children who use search engines to find information become very good in finding information and very poor in retaining it. This is because there is less imagination to read and think deeply. This article is helpful because it helps the reader to understand how google has positively and negatively impacted the society.

In their journal Encuentra, Fernández, & Gómez-Zúñiga (2016), they allude that the American seniors are the late adopters of technology (google). This journal provides a framework not only unique exploration of technology use for 65 years and above but within the senior generation at large. This journal divides the older Americans into two groups. The first group leans towards younger generation which is educated and more affluent. Also, the own substantial technology asserts and optimist view towards the towards the online platform. The other group comprises of older, less affluent and occasionally with major health issues of disability. The group is largely disconnected with digital asserts both physically and physiologically. The key findings in 2012 include the following. More than half of older adults (65 years and above) were internet users. Today, 59% of the seniors often visit google. This is six percent increase. 47% said they have high-speed connection at home. Additionally, 79 percent confessed of having cellular phone which is an upgrade from 70 percent in 2012.Despite this encouraging figure from the seniors, their age bracket continues to lag behind from the younger generation in matters of tech adoption. Many seniors remain unattached from the online and mobile life.41 percent do not use internet while 53 percent have not access to broadband and 23 % do not utilize cell phones. This article provided a profound research on the internet penetration among the old and how the senior in United States are coping in the adoption of the google and technology. It’s worth noting that when this research pinpoint about internet it is basically referring to google and other internet sites. Therefore, the statistics provide in this study are used to refer to google.

This article mainly focuses on describing different challenges that are faced by the seniors in adopting new technologies like google and other internet sources. According to the article, the following are the major difficulties and challenges faced by the seniors when adopting technologies. One is the physical challenge of using technology. Many seniors have the physical conditions or health conditions that make it difficult to use internet. Two of every five seniors indicate they have physical or health condition that makes it difficult or challenging to participate or read in daily. The major health and physical challenges include disability, handicap, and chronic prevent them from participating in daily activities. This group is considerably less likely than seniors who do not face these drawbacks to go online. (49% vs.66%), presence of broadband at home is (38%vs.53%) and to own digital asserts. Better still, there is a problem in skeptical altitudes about the advantages of technologies. The seniors are divided on the query that lack of access hurt them or not. Half of the non-users 49.5% agree that lack of internet hurt them as they miss information, 25% agreeing strongly. But 35% disagree that lack of internet access is a real disadvantage because of information they might be missing.18% strongly disagree. Lastly, the article stipulates that there is difficulty in learning to use new technology. A considerable majority of older adults say they need assistance in new digital devices and internet. Only 18 percent would be comfortable to lean about new technology using their smart phone.77% allude that they would need help to use internet and new devices. Among the seniors who use twitter and Facebook, 56% would need assistance on how to use the sites to connect with friends and family members.
