GMO or Non-GMO?

“A GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or other organism whose genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory using genetic engineering or transgenic technology. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and virus genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.” – NON GMO Project

In today’s society, more and more farmers and food manufactures are genetically modifying their crops and products in an effort to reduce the risk of disease affecting their products, enhance flavors, and produce more sustainable products at a lower costs. Do you believe that GMO’s (in particular, genetically modified foods) is a good idea? Why or why not?
