abstract and final paper
Writing Your Project’s Abstract
Some Guidelines
What is “abstract”?
Your abstract is a 350-word text in paragraph form that introduces your final project. If you
decide to submit your project from this class to a student/research conference in the future, you’d
be able to use this abstract you’re writing for this class!
Your FINAL ABSTRACT should include the following elements:
• Project title
• Research question
• Format of Project (paper, film, PowerPoint, exhibit, etc.)
• Related Literature – What are some of the most significant academic literature or references that serve as your project’s background or that support your findings?
Newspaper articles and secondary data such as statistical reports are an important source
of data, but so are book, the archives, and journal articles.
• Source of Data – State the method of your research. Did you use participant observation? Interviews? Video calls with informants? Digital ethnography?
• Significance of the project – How does your work contribute to related works/projects that are currently available? Why is your project important?
• Argument – What is the overall argument that your project is making?
Where can I see samples?

How do I submit my Abstract?
I have opened on a threat on Discussion Board on Brightspace, under the topic “Final Project.”
Please submit your abstract with the download link to your project.
