Writing Assignment 2—Headlines, Slogans & Taglines (60 pts)

The goal of Writing Assignment 2 is to practice writing headlines, slogans, and taglines.

Focus on chapters 16, 17, 21, 22, and 23. I provide some of the page numbers for the writing techniques, though you are expected to read all of the chapters assigned in the readings.

Writing Assignment 2 requires you to write 10 total headlines, slogans, and/or taglines using the following techniques.

(3) Repetition (pp. 203, 224)

(4) Opposition (pp. 204, 223)

(5) Omission (p. 209)

(6) Use client specifics (p. 210)

(7) Pun (pp. 212, 224)

(8) Draw a distinction (p. 216)

(9) Say it wrong/reversal (pp. 254-263)

(10) Metaphor (pp. 224, 264-284)
