Writing Assignment Checklist

1. Read each assigned reading carefully and make sure that you understand what each one is stating.

2. Make sure that you understand the question(s) that you are being asked to address in the discussion or essay.

3. Identify the purpose of the assigned readings - Why were they written, What was each author's intent?

4. Make sure that you understand what the questions are asking you to do.

6. Identify all of the concepts that relate to this topic, and make sure that you incorporate them into the discussion or essay.

5. Identify all the information that pertains to each question, including supporting details.

7. Ask yourself: Did I identify and cover all of the major points? Did I stick to the questions? Did I follow instructions?
