My“Academic Probation”experience

I want to talk about a group activity of Math class that happened in my first semester at Michigan State University depressed me . That was the first year I came to America alone. Using the an unfamiliar language to study and live in an unknown country. I had MTH124 at the first semester and we got practice course every Friday. I remember that I was in a group with one American student and one Asian American student worked out the mathematic problem. Maybe is the language barrier, I cannot communicate to them very well and lead that they do not answer my question and even ignored me at last. I felt less confidence at that time like became darker and darker in my mind. I even doubted that studying aboard for me is a good choice for me. That negative attitude cause an academic probation to me. Which average GPA is lower that 2.0.

That day which I went to met a academic advisor to finish my academic probation snowed heavily. I have never saw the such white snow before and it looks did not have any colorful things besides except the white color. And I cannot see any squirrels or birds which showed up at summer time. After meeting the academic advisor, I felt that I got sense of approval and received a lot encourage from the advisor. The advisor told me that I am not the only one who experienced this, and it is a great possibility to happen on an international student. I can’t forget what she told me the last sentence “Everything will be okay, the worst thing will past.”
