The program was opened by Ludwig van Beethoven's Egmont Overture.
Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and was the important musical figure during the tbetween Classical and Romantic periods. As a German pianist and composer, considered the best of all time, was a composer who brought together vocals and instruments, expanding the scope of sonata, symphony, concerto and quartet. (Ludwig van Beethoven Biography, 2018) Beethoven was fighting against deafness. He died at the age of 56. His most known pieces are Moonlight Sonata, Pathetique Sonata, Fifth Symphony, Fur Elise.
The story of this compose is that in 1809, along with the French occupied Vienna, Beethoven was forced to retreat. Most of the city's elite escaped. After distressing days, Beethoven began to write music for a theater in Egmont. This music to be composed for Goethe's, tells a sad story. In the record, Count Egmont is a Dutch heroically dying resistance fighter who is keen on the liberation of his country under Spanish occupation. Vienna's bomber certainly had a deep impact on him. Egmont's score was completed in June 1810 when he was 40 years old. He created a composition that successfully explained the story. It is similar to the Fifth Symphony, which completed two years before this work. (Counts)
The beggining of the passage is homophonic but later there are some polyphonic sounds in the piece. Beethoven work with a tragic theme. There is an entry that felt very sad. It's very obvious that it's a story. The part that slows down towards the center is increasingly coming out with a melancholy melody. The end of the piece seemed to tell the happy part of the story. Overture is a powerful and impressive piece. Also the story was really upset me.
The second part of the concert is Hans Zimmer's Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Man’s Cheast. Hans Zimmer The German-born composer. He was considered one of Hollywood's most innovative musical talents and showed his first pop music success as a member of The Buggles. Zimmer received many awards for composing more than 100 film music which are Batman, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean, the best films of their time. (Mini biography from IMDB )
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, 2006 American fantasy film, Pirates of the Caribbean film is the second film in the series, directed by Gore Verbinski. The film’s story is about wedding which is interrupted by pirates for finding dead man’s cheast. Special effects, action scenes, Hans Zimmer's musical score, humor and performances praised the movie. He has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Art Direction, Sound Editing, Audio Mixing and earned an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. This song by Hans Zimmer was played with orchestra by Paul Lavender.
The piece is mostly homophonic. This piece reminded me that dance of a tough love or victory and feels like enthuastic. Increasing in the melodies excites people from where they sit. I did not watch movie scenes but when I listened to it, I thought that movie music was a big influence on film success.
Thirdly , “Adagio para instrumentos de viento” composed by Joaquín Rodrigo in 1966. Joaquín Rodrigo was born on November 22, 1901 in Sagunto, on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. In 1905 an epidemic broke out in Sagunto, resulting in the death of many children and Joaquín almost blind. As a result of this personal tragedy, Rodrigo directed a career in the field of music. Joaquín Rodrigo (1901-1999) discovered a way to bring Spanish music to the 20th century. His solution was to use the melody to say and to use the traditional orchestral cogs; It is called neo-classical music. In particular, the Concierto de Aranjuez is regarded as one of the culminators of Spanish music and guitar concert repertoire. (Complete Biography)
This piece has a homophonic texture. When the orchestra started to play this piece, came to mind Rimsky Korsakov Scheherazade. The soft voices of the instruments took me to that piece. But interestingly, with the rhythms moving towards the center of the song, the track was far from similar to Scheherazade. The very moving parts remind me of an exciting escape moment or a salvation.
The program continue with E.T which composed by John Williams. John Towner Williams ,born February 8, 1932, is an American composer, conductor and pianist. However, the end of government intervention Elliott and the alien encounter a terrible situation. This work is homophonic in various types. Opening is homoritmic, all instruments are played. This extract is tonal, with a strong diatonic feel. However, its tonal plan is not entirely conventional. Compliance is predominantly tonal. Music moves at a rate of 2/2 meters or 3/2. In both cases, the measuring instrument has been made evident by strong humiliations and regular, periodic expressions. (Williams)

(The Music of Robert Sheldon)Danzas Cubanas is a set of three original dance-like movements celebrating Afro-Cuban music and the joy and energy of the people of this island nation. The opening conga sets the mood state, followed by the gentle and aluuring son salsa. The closing dance is a fast-paced mambo. An excellent multicultural music experience offers solos for three interconnected dances, piano, trombone, flute and trumpet. (Sheldon). This piece is a mostly polyphonic texture.Among the performances of the orchestra, my favorite work was Danzas Cubanas. I do not know whether it is because it is a salsa music that moves inside of people or it contains more positive melodies than other works.References Complete Biography. (no date).
