Workshop: Qualitative Research Study

The research question as two versions of the original version would be: how do we store or process information that is critical for our cognition? Or how do we perceive or receive the information about the outside world?

However, it is critical to acknowledge the fact, descriptive research approach I applied herein is very important in various fronts. For example, it is the best choice for identification of characteristics, frequencies, trends and various categories of study (Stenberg & Maaranen, 2020). For instance, before, I stated the research problem, I must understand how, when and where I will find the relevant information for it. The second important approach is the explanatory approach which has enabled me to develop deep insights about the topic being assessed and develop various hypothetical instances that will be tested. It is an essential approach when am conveying a new date about the perspective of the study herein.

The approach which would fit the question is the descriptive approach and thus, the question can be reformulated as follows: describe how mental knowledge is useful for one in perceive his environment and processing the information?

The descriptive research approach will help me in controlling the variables just as it is like in the experimental research. The outcome in descriptive research can be analyzed further and applied as research methods (Stenberg & Maaranen, 2020). It will then help in informing the next line of study, including the research method and how to apply it.

For this research I would apply psychological theories and social theories or frameworks and use them to define various concepts and explain the various phenomena in the research. These frameworks will be a reflection of my synthesis of the literature and how the issues are explained (Stenberg & Maaranen, 2020). They are based on my discretion as part of the research aims and objectives.

The most appropriate research tools I will apply in this approach are observational tools, case studies and even survey. With all these, I would be able to cover all the fundamental data and thus, have a lot and critical information for the entire study.
