How to Create a Works Cited Page

1. On a new page of your essay, type and center Works Cited

2. Type the required information for identifying your sources.

3. If your citation is longer than one line, indent all the lines below the first line. This is called a hanging indent. (Set hanging indents using the “paragraph” function).

4. Make sure all of your citation entries are in alphabetical order by the author’s last name. If you don’t have an author name, start with the article title.

5. Make sure everything on this page is 12 pt. Times New Roman font and double-spaced.

*Note: Different types of sources (books, scholarly journals, magazines, reference materials, interviews, etc.) will have a different format and different publication information to use for citing in MLA format.
