Women, Partnership, and Parenting

To earn a superior grade, this final paper should be written like a research paper with citations from the assigned readings throughout. Keep your personal opinions confined to the self-reflection paragraph. Questions posed here in my instructions are meant to be a jumping-off place, and not meant to be literally interpreted, or answered strictly, or directly. Your paper should be in a narrative format, not a Q&A. See Rubric to fully understand how the paper will be scored.

Discuss gender norms and ideology, differences of power and other equities/inequities, and the dilemma of differences within the scope of feminism and partnership. Be sure to include challenges for contemporary women. What work still needs to be done to make partnerships more equitable?

Further, discuss how the concepts of feminism and, of motherhood, challenge each other. Include myths of motherhood.

Discuss the false dichotomy of work-family balance and women's choice to work and/or be mothers. How does patriarchy support, and/or prevent, changes that would help women lead more fulfilling lives? How does the socio-economic scale impact her "choice"?
