Sample Introduction with Title:
Oprah Winfrey: Selfless Success
Oprah Winfrey, born Orpah Gail Winfrey, on January 29, 1954, is an African-American media executive, actress, talk show host, television producer, and philanthropist. She is best known for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated television program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011 in Chicago. Winfrey has been considered a global inspiration for many people. She has used her platform to serve and help others since she first started out her career. She has made it her life’s mission to help better the lives of other people in the United States and even on a global scale. Winfrey grew up in difficult circumstances and was able to persevere and become one of the most-watched daytime show hosts on television. Winfrey escaped from a difficult childhood, rose up, and used her fame and platform to inspire and improve the world one organization at a time. Winfrey is a staunch feminist. She promotes feminist ideology and practice without explicitly acknowledging the fact that she is endorsing either feminism or the United States women's movement. This endorsement of women’s rights is evident through Winfrey’s five major contributions to society. Winfrey is a supporter of Black educational rights and has contributed to many causes, such as charter schools, is a supporter of starring in and producing African-American films, such as The Color Purple and The Butler, and contributes to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa. Moreover, Winfrey spends her time with charitable work, such as the National Child Protection Act, Oprah’s Angel Network, and The Oprah Winfrey Foundation. She also supports The Oprah Winfrey Book Club, which endorses African-American female writers, such as Zora Neale Hurston.
The BOLD portion is the thesis. You must bold your thesis.
