Organizational
CULTURE
They aspire to use best practices in patient care, to use effective treatment management systems and to prevent errors.
Their vision is tol be the leading healthcare organization advancing the quality of life in our societies in partnership with our research collaborators (2020).
Their mission is to work to enhance people's health and welfare by offering compassionate care and outstanding services.
Cultural Change Toolkit
Provides information and resources on approaches focused on research that promote meaningful improvements in action( Adams, Hollingsworth, and Osman, 2019).
To help minimize burnout rates faced by nurses and minimize attrition of nursing staff.
Focuses on "important appreciation, joint decision-making and broader participation in leadership (Adams, Hollingsworth, and Osman, 2019).
Interventions which are cost efficient and easy to execute
Evidence Based Idea
Current Problem and Scope of the Issue
Current Problem
To reduce the rate and prevalence of nursing burnout
Scope of the Issue
Find interventions that reduce burnout
Stakeholders
Include the nurses who’s mental health is being compromised and the patients that may be affected by it
Risk
Expense and time of implementing interventions
Organizational Implementation
Knowledge
Creation
Knowledge workshops and literature reviews with staff and stakeholders to hear about operational progress and discussion of nurse burnout knowledge, retaining nurses, value of supportive work environments and proposed strategies
Dissemination
Expect to pilot for 6 months on one of the smaller nursing units. Disseminate to the larger units, with good effects. Newsletters and communications that contain important study results and priorities should be submitted to hospital wide.
Implementation
Six months of management engagement focussed on joint decision-making, effective identification approaches and improved collaboration. Interventions include Kudos desk, thank you employees and leadership card plan, constructive input envelope, regular leadership rounding and suggestions from workers. Disseminate in the organization, with positive reviews.
Organization
Adoption
When research continues to demonstrate reductions in attrition levels for nurses and increases in the quality and provision of health care, the hospital would have no choice but to implement the Cultural Change Toolkit.
Several causes such as poor spirits in nursing, toxic work environments, high turnover and burnout in nursing have a significant impact on patient care (Adams, Hollingsworth, and Osman, 2019)
Reducing the burnout and turnover rates for nurses would be tangible results that would help foster a healthy work climate
Measurable Outcomes
Lessons Learned from Completing the Evaluation Table
Burnout syndrome is commonly thought to consist of three dimensions: emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (D) and personal accomplishment (PA) (Membrive-Jiménez et al, 2020). It has been argued nurses are especially vulnerable to burnout, due in large part to the job stress they frequently encounter. This can be attributed to lack of staff, which makes it impossible to provide an effective response to treatment demands. Small personal accomplishment can be attributed to a lack of job participation and obligations, which can affect performance and effectiveness.
