QUESTION 1

Hello--I'm curious about a couple of things this week; thanks in advance for your thoughts!

What have you read so far from the Week 7 readings? Please just summarize a few impressions of what you've read with names, phrases, concepts. You don't have to write paragraphs here (unless you find it helpful to do so) -- I look forward to thinking with you on the discussion board!

Do you have any questions that you'd rather share here than in our online discussion?  I can answer privately, or just post a thread bringing something up if you like.

Question 2

One of the things that interests me about the post-war period, especially the 1950s, is how we're told that it was a very static, conservative time. That’s true--and yet, that's when the first nationally visible gay/lesbian organizations were created, among other developments relevant to our purposes.

The five readings I have uploaded take a variety of approaches to the period; please select and read at least one or two which present information that feels useful to you.

I'm looking forward to discussing with you, and learning what resonates for each of you!
