Discussion 1: Developing Research Questions
Research questions are critically important in the Doctoral Study process, as they help pinpoint exactly what you intend to discover through your research. When formulating research questions, care should be taken to ensure that the questions are actually leading you in the direction of what you hope to study.
For this Discussion, you will develop two potential research questions for your Doctoral Study Prospectus form.
By Day 4
Post your topic, research problem, and a minimum of three research questions, based on your research problem, which will guide your Doctoral Study research.
Support your Discussion with citations and specific references to all resources used in its preparation. You are asked to provide a reference list for all resources, including those in the resources for this course.

Developing Research Questions
Topic: Promoting a Positive Healthcare Environment with Diversity Training and Zero Discrimination Policies in Community Hospitals.
Research Problem: There is a lack of zero discrimination policies in Community Hospitals. Discrimination in healthcare setting increases the chances for more healthcare disparities. As healthcare disparities greatly affects minorities in the United States. According to Health People (2021), “Achieving health equity requires valuing everyone equally”. African Americans have a higher mortality rate then other races for cancer. In addition, 25% of Hispanics have high blood pressure (American Progress,2021). One of the aims of diversity training is that it creates awareness (Carvalho & Sabbath, 2017).
Research Question:
1. How important is diversity training for healthcare professionals, and what value does it bring to patients?
2. Without diversity training can healthcare professionals be culturally competent.
3. Can culturally competent healthcare professionals produce greater health outcomes.
