Hello everyone, my understanding of human rights, the rule of law, and international justice have definitely given me a better understanding of how crazy this world we live in can be. I have come to appreciate that I live in the US and don't have to deal with international justice. I have come to understand that just existing as humans gives us the rights to exist no matter our sex, ethnic origin, religion, color, language, or nationality. Even though we have the rights to exist we still must follow the rules of law given to us to follow whether it is for the good of the people or just to keep the peace between nations. Human rights give us the freedom to vote and equality.

The insight that I gain about human rights is that it belongs to everyone simply because we are human, allowing important values installed upon us like dignity, equality, fairness, and respect. Human rights allow us protection against those who wish us wrong no matter who we are or what we may face.

I agree that all three must work together in order for the enforcement of any of them to be successful. Is there one that is more important than the others? How has your perception of what human rights are changed throughout this course?

Before taking this course, I felt as though I knew the meaning and understanding of human rights, the rule of law, and international justice. However, I was wrong during these last few weeks I was able to get educated and get a better understanding many other human rights movements as well as international law on human rights. I learned that human rights are violated frequently, and people must constantly stand up to what their rights are in this world. I feel that many times people are too scared to stand up to what is right for fear, however these rules and laws help to protect us to be able to express ourselves. This class has taught me so much from others researching and points that I would have never thought to even look at.
