Over the last five weeks I have gained the importance of the role as a professional we play in a child life. And how much the child needs support at home and in a school setting as u don’t know the household situation and what the child may be going through. The child needs just as much support as the parent does. I have worked with children over the last twenty years and I understand each child reacts in a different way so we need to be able to support their needs and be there shoulder to lean on. When they are away from home it’s our job to make sure the child fills safe and loved. All the topics we touched on all involve care givers giving a little something extra when the child needs the support. As people go through troubling times in their life every day. Life is a revolving door that we all have to learn to cope with and as child care givers we have to be supportive and caring.
The topic that I learned about that touched me the most was “Supporting Children’s needs Following a Disaster” as I am a Katrina survive. I really learned so much like how the impact of the move and the loss affects the child. And it’s something the child carries with them for many years. Sometimes as you try to put things back together for the family you forget about the mental support the child needs to overcome the challenges that they will face. They have to adjust to new schools, new neighborhoods, and a new life style starting over from nothing. The child care provider is a major piece to the puzzle as they will help the child adjust to some of the new things they have to go through. We as care givers have to make sure the child feels accepted, safe and loved so they can better adjust to the situation. Always give all the support you can it’s our job!
As a child care giver we are the child’s voice when they are away. By us communicating the behavior for the day and noticing change in their behavior we can alert the parent there is a problem and outside help may be needed. We have to observe the children and be there voice even when they can’t speak. We are the advocate even when we don’t think we are the child sometimes will talk to us and not there parent. The child needs to know they can come to us and talk to us. That way we can talk to the parent and get on one accord to help the child. So being the advocate and the child care giver go hand in hand as you will always be in contact with the parent. And the parent needs to know they can communicate things with you as well so you can better understand the child and some of the behaviors as these things may interfere with them getting a proper education
In light of what I have realized all through the previous five weeks no less than two bits of knowledge I have picked up with respect to the effect of guardians, families, early youth care and instruction, and group on youngsters' advancement is that (1) guardians, families, early youth experts and additionally the group has the greatest effect on a child's improvement procedure. (2) Self direction is critical to youngsters in beginning periods of improvement.
The key elements affecting a kid's advancement stages begin from home with family and guardians stretches out to class with the experts at that point over into the group. Early youth experts connect these holes and unite the group. Experts must improvement associations and set up associations with families, guardians and group since it is their persuasions that get families and parent included. Self-control is imperative to kids accomplishment in school and in life since it enables the child to deal with their own particular practices, considering, and feelings. In life kids will be looked with such huge numbers of various things and they should have the capacity to self-direct. Youngsters who have solid self-direction are frequently more fruitful and persevere in everything that they do. These kids know how to manage all difficulties, are more adaptable to change without it being an issue and have the inspiration to need to accomplish more throughout everyday life. The present world will bolster cultivating this indispensable capacity in youngsters, since so much is changing and the change is occurring so quickly and kids must have the capacity to control themselves. We are living in various circumstances then our folks and we can't utilize the reason of being affected by family, peers, media, group, and school concerning why we are how we are. Self-direction will decrease the advancement of bias and that is the thing that need in this day and age is.
Weeks 3 activity design was tied in with tending to abuse the part of early youth experts. In the activity design I needed to assemble data about my state and how to report presumed kid mishandle as we well as think of approaches to help families and kids who have or are in danger of manhandle. The data I learned and assessed in building up this activity design will affect the way I view and bolster the youngsters and families I work with on the grounds that I will dependably teach myself on the critical factors, for example, how to distinguish that something is going on by the signs being shown, I will make myself mindful of the laws encompassing the circumstance being uneducated about the law can hurt the circumstance more than it will help. There is dependably a legitimate method to report the known and discover the obscure an activity design is the best in circumstances. When helping those families I will be extremely ingenious and give them alternatives and assets to use after I have done my activity in effectively helping them.
My reasoning as to the connection between the part of a children and family advocate and that of an early youth proficient is that the children and family advocate fabricates a compatibility with the parent and the parent communicates what they might want to see the kid succeed.
