Checklist based on grading rubric for an audience-friendly slide set
Week 6 SWO analyses
Wording on slides:
___ uses Plain Language to address a specific general audience, members of this class.
___ features common words, active voice, and an appropriate tone of voice.
Notes for oral delivery:
___ demonstrate understanding of the communication value of using concrete examples, brief stories, and comparisons to support general ideas.
___ indicate the most important details of the speaker’s oral delivery, including, as needed, sources.
___ are visually aligned to the bullets or illustrations they support.
Slide and Notes space content:
___ demonstrates ability to edit for correctness and for readability on a large screen.
___ features parallel lists and grammatical “agreement” between pronouns subjects and verbs.
The structure of the full slide set:
___ displays the reader-friendly structure demonstrated in Week 5 and 6 sample slide sets.
__ includes an engaging cover slide, a helpful explanation slide, and a clear statement of the speaker’s purpose and its benefit to listeners.
___ features content/main points organized with a blueprint and moving blueprints.
Slide designs:
