DISCUSSION: THE MEANING OF FAIRNESS
What does it mean to be judged by a jury of your peers?
What I thought that it meant to be judged by a jury of your peers was to have a jury that
came from a similar background. Which to me I thought that meant someone around the same
age as me, close to my race if not the same social class. After looking this up I was shocked to
see that what I thought was not what it meant to have a jury of your peers which means that a
person is not actually entitled to have people that are of the background that I previously mention
above. A jury could consist if anyone regardless of their background it could be anyone citizen
from your community (FindLaw’s team, 2019).
