Depression Among Teenagers

Depression is mental condition associated with loss of interest in activities and a feeling of sadness.

Teen depression is caused by:

Peer pressure

Academic expectation

Changing bodies

Psychological transition and anxiety

Teen depression requires long-term treatment through medication and psychological counseling.

Developing picot question focused on the clinical issue.

P – Population – I identified the population affected which was teen experiencing depression.

I – Intervention – Establishing what can be done to prevent or treat depression among teenager.

C – Comparison – Comparing outcomes of the interventions issued for the teens with depression.

O – Outcome – Evaluating and measuring outcomes of interventions.

T – Time - establishing duration of intervention to achieve desired outcome i.e. duration of medication or psychological counseling.

Level of Evidence; The article addresses a significant relationship between gender, age, anxiety, depression, and academic performance among teenagers.

It was confirmed that there is a dire need to pay more recognition to the anxiety and depression of adolescents in Iran.

Level of evidence.

The article because it succinctly discusses the psychiatric nature of depression among teenagers in Malaysia.

The findings show that there are some symptoms of depression that cause discomfort and disrupt teenagers to function normally.

The implication of the study giving knowledge about the symptoms of depression among teenagers and the kinds of treatment often used which are through counselling and psychotherapy.
