Global Warming

Global warming is as result of increase in temperatures/warmth of the oceans and earth’s atmosphere. This has economic, social, historical, cultural and political effects in the world. Historically the temperature of the earth has gone up by 1.2 degrees since the year 1880. The highest temperatures were experienced for 30 consecutive years at the Northern hemisphere between the year 1983 and 2012 with 16 years being among the records seen as the warmest. According to the agreement made in Paris by nations in 2016 the temperatures should not surpass 2.0 degrees. The shift of the orbit of the earth 11000 years ago resulted into the earth warming up to 2.0 degrees and hence causing little ice age due to greenhouse effect. Greenhouse effect results from

Economically global warming creates more negative impacts as compared to the positive ones. Global warming may result into prolonged droughts and floods ending into unavailability of water, energy and low food supply. It causes negative effects on trade especially to the banking, insurance, investment and labour markets as the sector will face a decline in funds available for various activities. Global warming may be slightly advantageous as some of the gases emitted li carbon [IV] oxide is of help plants.

Social effects range from migration, agricultural and food supply, health, infrastructure and water resources. Developing states are the ones that are most affected by climate changes as floods and drought make such countries uninhabitable as citizens end up losing their loved ones and properties hence relocate often. The children and elderly suffer from various diseases as a result of starvation most funds are directed towards natural averting natural calamities as compared to funds directed towards healthcare. Such countries suffer from poverty and poor infrastructure and education. There are also social conflicts among countries and their citizens as they fight for such few resources.

Therefore, global warming is more of a disaster economically, socially, culturally and politically and should be prevented at all costs to ensure peace and stability in both developed and developing countries mission of gases from industries should be avoided at all costs. Countries should encourage afforestation over deforestation to avoid climate change.
