Ashfordton should implement solar panels on as many buildings as possible. This will help conserve energy. For example if we chose to do vertical farming, which uses a lot of energy, solar panels would reduce that energy use drastically.

Vertical Farm

I think that Ashfordton should implement a vertical farm that the community has access to. This will ensure that Ashfordton has fresh produce and that it is grown without pesticides and chemicals. This will also save on land as the vertical farm will be indoors.

Ashfordton is surrounded by water. Implement water sensors and a automatic system generated from the ocean. Use gps devises to know the amount of water supply needed.

Use of Agroforestry

Since Ashfordton has surrounding pine forests, areas of the forest may be used for growing of crops so the trees can provide some shade and protection for the crops during the seasons.
