To improve my knowledge of Scientific foundation by the end of my clinical rotation

I will allocate more time to understand the scientific foundation. I will need to invest time to understand all concept in regulations and scope of practice; theoretical foundations of care and nonpharmacologic therapies

I will frequently utilize my time in watching webinars on scientific foundations. With the help of webinars, I will gain access to verity of learning materials.

Invest time to read related articles and journals and visit live events. Most importantly utilize articles such as peer-reviewed which will provide quality information of scientific foundations.

To ensure adequate preparation for the certification exam the entire learning activities for the goals should be achieved at least by week 9.

Promoting my clarification in scientific foundations will enhance my confidence which will in turn boost y chances of positive outcome with my certification exam.

Applying the better apprehension of the scientific foundation that I have acquired, will put me in a confident position and provide quality care as a Nurse practitioner.

To better my knowledge of Diagnosis and treatment by the end of my clinical rotation

Attending workshops on effective use diagnostic materials will give me the opportunity to familiarize myself on the utilization on DSM-5 diagnosis material

Following my preceptor to work in clinical setting will create opportunity to identify my weaknesses. My preceptor will be able to deliver relevant information regarding diagnosis and treatment.

I will review all diagnosis in DSM-5 to get a better understanding of criteria for diagnosis and treatment

I will utilize materials such as certification review books to practice to enhance my level of knowledge on diagnosis and treatment. I will utilize materials such as: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 4th edition, Kaplan and Sadock’s Synopsis of Psychiatry.

By week 5 and 6, activities such as learning, should have been completed to prevent piling up modules that needs to be read.

The uncertainties concerning diagnosis and treatment will be abolish after accomplishing this goal. This also provides opportunity to gain clarity and eliminate confusion.

Activities such as learning will promote opportunity for networking and liaise with professional colleagues from different cultural backgrounds

To improve my knowledge of psychotherapy and related theories by the end of my clinical rotation

I will attend conferences that addresses matters such as Nursing theories. Being present at such presentation will boost my extent of knowledge acquisition on Nursing theories.

I will utilize materials such as: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 4th edition, Kaplan and Sadock’s Synopsis of Psychiatry.

Promoting my extent of knowledge on Nursing theories will reduce my being anxious in exam situation. Having being equipped with loads of information will enable me take on any challenges concerning Nursing theories. Having a good grasp of this important area will enable hold high level of confidence in delivering quality care in the society.

To improve my knowledge on Ethical and legal principles by the end of my clinical rotation

I will explore the opportunity to have my preceptor lead me through the skills to better understand Ethical and legal principles. My preceptor guidance will form a major role in being successful in this area. With help of my preceptor, I will gain teachings that are valuable.

I will utilize materials such as: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 4th edition, Kaplan and Sadock’s Synopsis of Psychiatry.
