My Career field Topic
Why I choose the career or field of study.
Purpose statement: I choose the military to pursue my education and travel the world.
Thesis statement: This decision was an easy choice for me as I graduated high school, since I come from an all-military family and wanted to keep tradition.
1. Introduction
Attention Getter: Well, the military is not for everyone, and historically only 1% qualify to even join. I am honored to be part of this and growing up I felt a need to serve my country and give back.
2. Introduce Yourself & State your Creditability: My name is Zanzi, I choose to join the
Navy and go into the medical field. I was always fascinated by medicine as a kid and
interested in helping others and saving lives.
3. Overview of Main Points: In my speech I will outline the job description, preparation
and advantages, disadvantages of a career in the military and medical field.
4. Transition:
· Job Description: Being in the medical field is important in saving lives and treating injuries and illnesses of people.
· Preparation: Education/Training/Qualifications: There are numerous qualifications and education that one needs to obtain to work in the medical field and if you want to specialize in a certain area for example cardiology one must go to school for advanced training and certifications.
· Advantages/Disadvantages: Depending on the job and where you work the hours/shift, can take a demand on both your physical and mental health. I think people are drawn towards certain types of careers for a reason and with any job it is not always going to be perfect.
4. Conclusion: I am glad I made the career decision I did and joined the Military as it gives me unlimited opportunities for if I decide to stay in and retire or get out and work in the civilian sector.
