Question B

Experience with Workplace Training

Workplace place training is a beneficial endeavor by organization because of the uniqueness of the organization’s vision, mission, organizational values and working conditions. Whereas a recruit may be qualified and experienced in doing the job, it is necessary to conduct workplace training to orient the employee to the organization. In addition, workplace training helps employees to refresh their understanding about work based duties. In this case, workplace training is beneficial to both the employee and the employer. The employer is advantaged because of the higher productivity, reduced workplace conflict, reduced injuries while the employee benefits because of increased efficiency to accomplish his duties and increases prospects for promotion and career growth (Elnaga & Imran, 2013). Organizations conduct on job training for semi-proficient employees who learn by doing. Off-job training is done away from the place of duty such as in conferences or workshops.

My employer values workplace training because it increases the morale of employees, hence it motivates them. Workplace training is an investment by the organization; therefore, employees who have been trained get job security hence they are motivated (Elnaga & Imran, 2013). Motivated employees are productive and beneficial to the organization. Furthermore, the organization trains employees to reduce supervisory cost because the employees are acquainted to their duties. It also reduces accidents that could arise due to errors; as such, it is an occupational health and safety measure.

As an expert, workplace training proves successful and has helped organizations reduce their operational costs by reducing employee turnover. A case in point is Wal-Mart Inc., which is the leading supermarket and private employer in the world, it conducts workplace training to all is employees (Feloni, 2017). Effective workplace training is a continuous process, new employees are trained to orient them to their new jobs, while old employees are trained to motivate them, teach them new ways and approaches or working and to equip with new technologies and trends.
