Cultural activity simply means that feeling of belonging to a certain group. It involves the personal perception or conception and is related to language, religion, ethnicity, nationality, generation, Age set among others. It important to describe my culture identity as a basic sociological term passed from generations and which includes the beliefs and value system of the society. These features bid us together into a community and creates a feeling of uniqueness. My cultural identity as changed to some extent due to technology and urbanization. My view is that various cultural activities have been outdated by the current generation; i.e. the roles of men and women in the society. Great introduction.

By virtue of wisdom, I prefer cultural identities that promote peace, unity and co relation between society members. Religion is a cultural practice that promotes peace and spiritual growth among the citizen thus must be factored as a key element in life. The church services and the religious rituals are meant to promote unity and integration among citizens. Nationality is an identity of one’s place of birth and origin, if well-defined it promotes patriotism among citizens contrary to which it used to invite discrimination. Ethnicity in other words promotes peaceful co-existence among the community. It also helps in defining the ancestral spirit and location of the people. Age set is a basic culture that defines one’s life and the stages in life. There are cultural definitions of roles of individuals outlined in the age set; role of men, children, women, girls, boys and aged.

Generation is a cultural identity that requires careful definition. The modern generation is found to devalue the traditional African heritage. Respect to the elders for example have been eroded as the young belief in uniform equality. The generation is said to have diverted from the religious way of life to westernization. Several abortion, fornication and adultery have been reported in recent years. The incorporation of western culture in the recent generation as eroded the taboos and moral values in society leading to more consequences. Racism is another cultural activity that leads to color discrimination among nations thus must be highly avoided.

The upcoming of new technology and having access to have i.e. internet has increasingly changed the culture of many communities. The access to internet by the young and old generation have marked a rapid change in mode of dressing, traditional beliefs, religion and many others. The youths can now access the dressing styles and fashions worldwide ending up being assimilated in foreign cultures. Some have gone to an extent of abandoning their religious virtues to incorporate others i.e. the Chinese booths religion and Hinduism.

My culture identity has changed greatly from my child age to adult. When young I used to follow the foots of my parents in terms of dressing and religion. During adult age, it’s now my time to change and make decision to whatever appears viable to me. I just decide on which code to dress and to which religion I must belong to. During child age many taboos were said, community customs and rituals which for now I find less important. It’s worth to say some cultural identities such as rite of passage transforms the life of individual from childhood to adulthood. Its during initiation time that I understood the role and responsibility of a man to the family and society. Equally children are greatly affected by cultural activities since they have no choice in making their own decision. All the ways of a child correspond to the teachings of his or her guardian. I find many adults shifting from one religion to another condemning their parents for misguidance. Moreover, I still a bid to moral rituals and Christianity as the derives me in a dignified life. And it is this process of change that is important as you have described.

Finally, cultural identity is found to be dynamic and ongoing moreover during adolescence. At this age, the young discover their senses and are prone to interact with different people. The interactions shape their focus and end up losing there in born believes and practices. Some defect from their churches, mosques and also dressing styles. During adolescencet, all children wishes to look similar. This welcomes the theme of cultural diversity. ? I am confused as I think you may be saying that it is the desire to be the same that does not promote diversity? And yet your words say this is “welcome?”

In regard to the above discussion, it’s worth saying live is individual and one must use is own wisdom and knowledge to evaluate the cultural activities and identities that shape their life better. Defecting from one’s culture is believed to invite causes and thus must be avoided.

Overall I can tell you have some great thoughts here regarding diversity. However, at times I am confused by your sentences. I think that a final proof read perhaps by someone else might be helpful to ensure your writing matches what you are trying to express. Remember also to connect your assignments to the assigned reading. I did not see any in text citations or a reference list. Doing this is the foundation of academic writing. You may want to set up an appointment with the Walden Writing Center to review your paper and provide some tips. They are great and very responsive.
